First of all, thank you for visiting my page
I am Annemarie Westen, a Dutch artist living in The Netherlands. As an artist I have several passions in life where I get energy from; like working as a Womenswear Designer but also creating personal passion projects in illustrations and paintings to enjoy the spare time and make it a useful & energising time.
In my atelier in Utrecht, I create personal artworks out of an urge of creating, where the female body and the feminine energy is an inspiration for me combined with our now-a-day urge of belonging; a feeling of nostalgia.
Besides my personal work that you will find on this page, I am working on a so called 'passion-project' where I am creating a series of paintings in the 18th century oil painting technique and where the male gaze is questioned by the way the model is positioned and where femininity 'ends' and the masculinity 'begins'.
